Tequila Tour

In the area around the town of Tequila in the state of Jalisco, greenish blue fields of Agave stretch out mile after mile over the rugged, hilly terrain. All of the tequila in the world, some 60 million gallons a year, is produced also in some parts of the States of Guanajuato, Nayarit, Michoacan and Tamaulipas. In 1978 the “Appellation of Origin Tequila” was instituted, decreeing that agave-based drinks made anywhere else may not be labeled tequila. The landscape with the fields full of Blue Agave can be found on the World Heritage List by the Unesco.

Upon arrival after a beautiful ride, which is worth the trip already, we will take you to the most beautiful Tequila distiliries in the area: La Cofradia. You will enjoy a guided tour witch explains step by step the process how the agave plant is transformed into tequila. Finally, try different varieties of the spirit. Bring good walking shoes as it´s huge.

After this tour, we will visit the Town of Tequila where you will see the town’s 18th century church, the Town Hall with an amazing mural and you will have time to walk around yourself and have lunch. (lunch not included). After lunch we will drive back to Vallarta.
