We will pick you up at your hotel or at the Cruise Ship Pier and start our adventure exploring the highlights of Puerto Vallarta. We begin in our beautiful downtown area, with a stroll along the Malecon, a visit to our main Church; Our Lady of Guadalupe and the plaza. Next we will visit the “romantic zone” of Vallarta and the famous Los Muertos beach, to Conchas Chinas, our “Beverly Hills”, then on the way to Los Arcos where we will stop for photos and amazing views of the Bay.

Next stop is in Mismaloya where the famous movie, “Night of the Iguana” was filmed and put Puerto Vallarta on the map. Explore Puerto Vallarta and the surroundings in just one day; the perfect city tour.

We will pick you up at your hotel or at the cruise ship terminal and we will head to the “Malecon” in downtown Puerto Vallarta. See the famous Boy and Sea Horse sculpture, the Papantla flyers and stroll the Malecon to the main square of Puerto Vallarta. Visit the iconic Our Lady of Guadalupe church and the Los Arcos open air amphitheater. After that, we will take you the Romantic Zone and will travel southwards. Where ever we can we will make a stop at the viewpoints, such as the other “Los Arcos”; the rock formation which is a famous landmark and a great place for snorkeling. Further south, we will stop in Mismaloya, where the movie “The night of the Iguana” was filmed. Unfortunately the actual movie set is closed to the public but we will visit the viewpoint. Then it is Tequila time! We will take you to a place where a Tequila expert will explain the whole process and of course you can try all flavors. After you have seen all of the highlights of the area, we can give you several options to complete your city tour.

  • Take a Canopy tour! Our rates for this tour are amazingly low for the exact same tour sold on the cruise ship. Book with us and Save! See here for the perfect combination of a City Tour with zip lining!
  • Explore the beautiful Botanical Gardens! Truly one of the highlights of Puerto Vallarta. Visit the gardens and trails, the plantation style restaurant, shop and see the butterfly collection or head down to the cool fresh river for a dip.

After the tour we will bring you back to your hotel, the cruise ship terminal, or if you prefer, we can drop you off downtown so that you can visit the flea market/Mercado, and shop till you drop..

Cruise ship passengers: Be aware that local time might be different than ship time. Our Time zone is Central Standard Time (CST) and tours start local time.

Note: unlike many other operators, we will NOT bring you to jewelry stores, as we know your time is valuable, we will take all time to show you the City and surroundings. No time share involved either.

  • THANK YOU Daniel! You are the most enthusiastic, sincere and humble guide we ever met. Throughout the entire tour you were constantly pointing out different things about the culture, the crops, and the people. We started out by riding the Van to the quaint town where you explained the history and the area. We also got to try fresh tortillas out of the machine. They were so warm, fresh and tasted like a tortilla should taste (not the preservative added crap you get in the grocery store).

  • Dear Astrid,

We had a fantastic time. Your guide was amazing and very kind, even assisting with my sister who is older and has difficulty walking. The service and tour was much more than we expected and thank the two of you for running such a professional and friendly company. We will undoubtedly spread the word about Superior Tours and now know who to call when we return to Puerto Vallarta.
